Lena Mae Prillaman Nichols

Lena Mae Prillaman Nichols, age 86 of Stuart, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Patrick County on December 15, 1938 to the late Gold Prillaman and Eva Hylton Prillaman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Layton Moir Nichols; three brothers, Chester, Wilford, and Dewey Prillaman.

She loved working outside and had an amazing green thumb. Planting and growing flowers was a joy. She could almost plant a dead stick and it would bloom. She loved her family and listening to all the conversations around the kitchen table. She loved the Lord and was a member of New Hope Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by three daughters, Kathey Bocock (Tom), Kaye Thomas (Steve), and Faye Ramsey (Tony); one son, Mark Nichols; Eight Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandchild; one sister, Fern Wimmer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Chapel with Mark Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Prillaman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank everyone at Franklin Healthcare, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Palliative Care, and Hospice for the sweet care given to her during her final days.
