Leonard Ray Fain

             Mr. Leonard Ray Fain, age 75 of Patrick Springs, passed away August 12, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  He was born on December 9, 1946, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Everett Fain and Minnie Puckett Fain.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, Bobby, Jim, and Clifford Fain; and three sisters, Mary Lambeth, Lillian Culler, and Gladys Bowman.  Ray attended Calvary Baptist Church and had been a truck driver for over 35 years.  He loved watching NASCAR races and spending time with his family.

          Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy Adkins Fain of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne McKinney of Trinity, NC; one son, Timmy Sutphin of Ohio; five grandchildren, Heather Abshire and husband, Billy, Samuel Kitchin, Dustin Ellis and wife, Colleen, Zackery Kitchin, Caleb "Spud" Sutphin; four great grandchildren, Brayden, Abel, Jayse, Lennox; one brother-in-law, David Lambeth of Roanoke; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Fain of Trinity, NC, Dolly Fain of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor David Freeman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Nettle Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
