Leonard Wade Hawks

Mr. Leonard Wade Hawks, 61, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away July 30, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center after a short illness. He was born April 23, 1960, in Mt. Airy, NC, to Helen Grey Hawks and the late Loyd “L.H.” Hawks, Jr.. Mr. Hawks is survived by his mother Helen Grey Hawks; a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Bill Hull; a brother Hugh Hawks; nephews and spouses, Will and Brea Hull, and Adam and Amanda Hull, as well as several great nephews, a great niece; aunts and cousins. In addition to his father, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harlie “Dock” and Annie Leonard Grey; and paternal grandparents, Loyd Hugh Hawks, Sr. and Grace Leftwich Hawks. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cana, VA, with Rev. Israel Easter officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Friends and family will gather at the home of his mother.
