Mr. Leonard Grady Isaacs, 70, of 496 Belton Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home. Mr. Isaacs was born February 25, 1942, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Jessie Ephriam and Thelma Cena York Isaacs. Leonard was a self-employed farmer and mechanic. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Tim Minter of Germantown, MD, and Rachel and Patrick Mayes of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Brian Minter of Germantown, MD, and Susanna Minter and Maggie Mayes, both of Mount Airy; a sister, Nancy Sparks of Mount Airy; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, John and Becky Isaacs of Woodstock, GA, Roger and Deloris Isaacs of Kernersville, and Irene Isaacs of Archdale; two sisters-in-law, Jane Zapotosky of Rochester, MN, and Cinnie Cobbler of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Isaacs was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Ann Cobbler Isaacs; two grandsons, Nicholas Mayes and Christopher Mayes; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard Isaacs, Ray and Birdie Isaacs, and Loyd and Jan Isaacs; and three brothers-in-law, Ronnie Sparks, James Cobbler, and Emerson Zapotosky. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harry Sammons and the Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
