Leonard Ray Payne

Mr. Leonard Ray Payne age 70 of Stokesdale, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Silas Creek Manor in Winston-Salem. Mr. Payne was born in Surry County, NC on December 7, 1936 to the late Henry and Pearl Coalson Payne. He was employed by Vulcan Materials Company for 39 years. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Henry Wallace of Mount Airy and Daphney and Wayne Bullins of Dobson; two grandchildren, Jessica Bullins and Chris Bullins, a brother, Jesse Payne of California., two special friends, Ruby Shields, Kernersville, NC, and Corey Viers, Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Phil Hulen, Rev. Don Martin and Rev. Kevin Lynn Blevins. Burial will follow in Ivy Green Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday night at Moody Funeral Home where his body will remain until the hour of the funeral service.
