Leroy Burton

Mr. Leroy Burton, age 86, of Dobson, NC, a loving husband, father, grandfather passed away on Saturday June 2, 2018 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born in Surry County on December 13, 1931 to the late Conley Burton and the late Pearl Sneed Burton.  He was a Farmer, member of the Union Cross Baptist Church, member of the Union Cross Ruritan Club.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister JoAnn Hayes; a brother Matthew Burton.  Surviving is his loving wife of sixty nine years, Mary Ann Freeman Burton of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Michael  Gambill of Elkin; a son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Judy Burton of Dobson; two grandchildren, Donnie Lynn Burton, Dustin Gray Burton; a special great-granddaughter, Starline Burton and finance Andrew Howard; 4 other great- grandchildren, Brody Burton, Ryley Belle Burton, Devin Burton, Victoria Burton; sister, Iva Jean and Alfred White of Elkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Betty Jo Burton of Elkin,  Billy and Faye Dean Burton of Elkin. Funeral service will be held, 2:00 PM Monday June 4, 2018 at Union Cross Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Tom Parker and Rev. Jason Johnson will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends at Union Cross Baptist Church on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of his service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Burton Family.
