Leslie Ingram Adams, Jr.

Mr. Leslie Ingram Adams, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 10, 2021.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Leslie and Doris Adams, Sr.  Growing up in Louisville he developed a lifetime passion for hunting and fishing.  He is forever grateful to the Wooten family who took him to church as a youngster and introduced him to Christ.  Following graduation from high school, he worked several jobs locally before joining the U.S. Navy.  He proudly served in the Navy for over 20 years as a biomedical engineering technician and retired as a Navy Chief.  He received numerous medals including Navy Commendation, Navy Achievement, National Defense Service, Armed Forces Service, Meritorious Service, and Global War on Terrorism.  He was an expert pistol and rifleman.  He served in three different war theaters.  During his time in the Navy, he traveled extensively throughout the world.  Les and his wife Teresa loved to travel.  He had been to all 50 states and five of the seven continents.  Besides hunting and fishing, he enjoyed volunteering with Operation Christmas Child, Meals on Wheels, and some projects at his former church, Western Avenue Baptist.  He listened to his Bible on tape almost daily especially when his health failed and he could no longer attend in-person services.  He enjoyed discussing the scriptures with his brother and long talks with his sister.  Leslie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Teresa Dollyhite Adams of the home; his daughter, Leslie Adams of Louisville, KY; his brother, Raymond (Susan) Adams of Louisville, KY; and his sister, Annie (Tom) Clark of Raywick, KY.  He is also survived of three grandchildren, Dakota, Dallas, and Ryder of Louisville, KY.  Mr. Adams wishes to acknowledge his special son, Bobby Scheurich of Louisville, KY, and a special friend, Billy Johns of Statesville.  Mr. Adams also leaves behind three special dogs, Bella, Sophia, and Zippy who loved taking rides in his red F150.  He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Maxine, a granddaughter, Justice, and his father-in-law, Charles Dollyhite (affectionally known as Pa).  Memorials may be made to New Venture Baptist Church or Highland Park Baptist Church in Mount Airy.  Due to Covid restrictions, the family will have no formal visitation service, but Mr. Adams will be at Moody Funeral Home where visitors may sign the register.  There will be a graveside service for Mr. Adams on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at New Venture Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Thomas and Rev.
