Mrs. Lettie Marie Reynolds Inscore, 81, of 268 Old Highway 52 South, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday January 6, 2011. Mrs. Inscore was born September 11, 1929, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Walter Newell and Lurinda Childress Reynolds. She was a registered nurse at Martin Memorial Hospital for many years and later retired from Worth Honda in Mount Airy. Lettie was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Robert Slayton of Mount Airy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Inscore of Mount Airy, Darrell and Pam Inscore of Tobaccoville, Jeff and Debbie Inscore of Midland, and Scott and Sharon Inscore of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, David and Anjeli Inscore, Craig and Buffy Inscore, Hayley Slayton, Logan Inscore, Jacob Inscore, Laura Williams, Michael Inscore, Justin Inscore, and Brittany Inscore; great-grandchildren, Landon Williams, Marcus Inscore, Peyton Inscore, Julian Inscore, and Spencer Inscore; and a sister, Velna Worth of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Inscore was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Elmer Inscore; seven sisters, Opal Lynch, Irene Jefferson, Lena Worth, Hazel Turner, Pauline Brown, Cavie Lou Reynolds, and Juanita Reynolds; and three brothers, Theodore Reynolds, Roscoe Reynolds, and Roy Reynolds. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayburn Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
