Lettie Geneva Berrier McMillian

Mrs. Lettie Geneva Berrier McMillian, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. McMillian was born March 19, 1919, in Carroll County, VA, to Robert Lee and Sally Vernon Berrier. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and attended Rockford Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Loyce McMillian of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Steve McMillian and Debbie Cox; two great-grandsons, Tyler Neal and Alex Cox; a sister, Lummie McMillian of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Mary Berrier of Cana, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillian was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee McMillian; two sisters; and five brothers. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Glenda Bramlet officiating. Burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
