Levia Geneva Marion Atkins

Mrs. Levia Geneva Marion Atkins age 87 of 1594 Old Highway 601 , Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Howard Yancy Atkins passed away Saturday morning, August 19, 2006 at home. She was born April 2, 1919 in Surry County, NC to the late Charlie and Cora Marion Marion. She was retired from Spencer's Inc., was a member of Dover Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Tommy Murel and Rebecca Atkins, Mt. Airy, NC and Byrona Atkins, White Plains, NC, four grandchildren and two spouses, Jerry and Cathy Atkins, Mt. Airy, NC, Rev, Ricky and Debbie Atkins, Yadkinville, NC, Angie Atkins, White Plains, NC, Donald Atkins, White Plains, NC, six great grandchildren and three spouses, Allison Atkins, Lee and Beth Atkins, Brandi and Codi Atkins all of Mt. Airy, NC, Tonya and Brad Alderman, King, NC, Nicholas Cox and Joshua Cox both of White Plains, NC, a sister, Lorene Hiatt, Mt. Airy, NC and a sister-in-law, Alma Marion, Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by a son Donald Hugh Atkins, a great granddaughter, Brittany Erin Atkins, a great-great grandson, Braxton Andrew Love, several brothers and sisters. The family would like to express a special thanks to the Gayle McCrary , Libby Marion , Flannery Heath , Melissa O'Brien , Niki Farrington and Carol Casstevens of Mountain Valley Hospice. Graveside services will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Dover Baptist Church conducted by Rev. J. Cecil Hill and Rev. Ricky Atkins. The family will receive friends 3:30 PM Sunday at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy until time for Mrs. Atkins to the cemetery for the graveside service.
