Lewis Willard

Mr. Lewis Willard “Grandpa” of Dobson died unexpectedly Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his residence.  He was born in Stokes County to the late William Chester and Clara Bell Willard on February 28, 1951.  He attended Stokes County Schools and was a man of all talents.  Lewis spent 36 years with the love of his life Patty “Pat” Marion.  You never saw one without the other.  He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Dobson.  Lewis loved gardening, dancing, the beach, family gatherings (if it involved eating).  He was the most loving, compassionate, caring person you could ever meet.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.  Surviving is his loving companion, Patty Marion of Dobson; three daughters, Sandy Gallos, Myra (Joe) Franklin both of Clemmons, NC and Renee (Lynn) Barker of Statesville, NC; granddaughters, who were the love of his life, Mackenzie and Cassidy Barker of Statesville and Courtney Franklin of Clemmons; two brothers, Troy (Della) Willard of Mocksville, NC and Reid (Louise) Goins; several nieces and nephews. 

Papa, as heartbreaking as this is, it is now time to say goodbye.  We will never forget how much joy you brought into our lives.  It brings us comfort in knowing that you have gone to your heavenly home and you are now in the arms of Jesus.  Until we meet again, know that we love you to heaven and back and even more.  Goodnight “John Boy.”  You will forever be in our hearts.   Patty, daughters and granddaughters
