Mr. Lewis McClellan Mac Willis, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, November 27, 2015, at his home. Mr. Willis was born July 20, 1930, in Patrick County, VA, the son of the late Lawrence A. Bud and Zella Lewis Willis. Mac served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired proprietor, a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, and attended Saint Andrew Lutheran Church. He lived a life devoted to his community and served faithfully as a member of Postmasters Toastmasters, Sertoma Club, and chairman of the Surry County Republican Party. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Conley Lyerly Willis of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory Willis of Raleigh and Freddie and Gloria Willis of Troutman; and two grandchildren, Spencer Willis and her husband, Dan Adams, and Alex Willis, all of Troutman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Ann Mills Willis; and a brother, Clifton Burnard Willis. The funeral service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 1401 Fancy Gap Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
