Lillia Mae Shinault

Mrs. Lillia Mae Shinault, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Shinault was born April 13, 1923, in Surry County, to the late Robert and Reecie Goin Deathridge. She was a homemaker and farmer and a member of The Community Church. She is survived by her husband, Herman Shinault of the home; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Avis and Dean Hutchens of Pinnacle, Loretta and Allen Reeves of Martinsville, VA, Carolyn and Ronnie Lane of Madison, Doris and Terry Lyons of Lambsburg, VA, and Ann Thomas; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold Shinault, Clifford Shinault, and J.W. and Lisa Shinault, all of Mount Airy, and Steve Thomas; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shinault was preceded in death by three sisters, Jenny Shinault, Hallie Shinault, and Irene Atkins; and a brother, Robert Deathridge. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 2:00 PM at The Community Church, with the Rev. Ray Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until the time to be carried to the church for the service.
