Mrs. Lillian McMillian King, 89, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. King was born May 26, 1921, in Patrick County, VA, to John William and Mary Thompson McMillian. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are her primary caregivers, Jimmy and Jayne McMillian; several special nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Cox, Arlene Chitwood, and Lena Conneley; and a brother-in-law, Warren Garland King In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, James Aldie King; a sister, Violet Fleming McMillian; three brothers, Lonzie McMillian, Lacy McMillian, and Clarence McMillian; three sisters-in-law, Marietta Cook, Mamie Nugent, and Gladys Metheng; and five brothers-in-law, Elmer King, Harvey King, Percy King, Willie King, and Carlos King. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Dr. David Sparks and the Rev. Deward Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, 120 Pentecostal Church Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
