Lillie Mae Bennett Bishop

Mrs. Lillie Mae Bennett Bishop, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Born in Surry County, Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of the late Jay and Geneva Goad Bennett. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George Donald "Don" and Jamie Bishop of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two grandchildren and their spouses, Donivan George Bishop and Tara and Julie Bishop Sutton and Eric, all of Jacksonville, FL; and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Midkiff of Mount Airy, Ruth Pike of Deltona, FL, and Polly and Lewis Simmons of Burkeville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Bishop. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 12:00 PM at Mount Airy Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mount Airy Wesleyan Church, P.O.
