Mrs. Lillie Mae Money Moore, 87, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Moore was born September 29, 1930, in Surry County, one of four children born to the late Miles Dewey and Laura Benge Money. Lillie retired as a bookkeeper from The Salvation Army after many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Anne and Chuck Burkhart of Winston-Salem and Karol Moore of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Dennis E. and Lavonne Moore of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Holly and Brian Busick and Justin and Kathryn Moore, all of Mount Airy, and Cory and Melissa Spencer of Winston-Salem; her great-grandchildren, Courtney Busick, Clay Busick, Chase Moore, Scott Moore, Anderson Moore, and Harper Moore, all of Mount Airy, and Taylor Spencer of Winston-Salem; and two brothers, Miles Leonard Money and William Alvis Money, both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Alvis Moore; a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Reed Busick; and a sister, Ruby Beatrice Money. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Dr. Chris Benfield, the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt, and Pastor Dennis E. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center and the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
