Mrs. Lillie May Pace Scott, 96, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Rose Tara Plantation in King. Mrs. Scott was born September 25, 1912, in Patrick County, VA, to the late John Henry Pace and Sarah Elizabeth Moss Pace Boles. She worked many years at Renfro Hosiery Mill in Mount Airy and retired as a practical nurse. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Scott is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Dee Atkinson of Elon; a son and daughter-in-law, Kemp and Diane Scott of Elon; daughter-in-law, Doris Scott of Lowgap; seven grandchildren, Johnny Ray Scott and wife, Pam, of King, Del Atkinson and wife, Jan, of Wake Forest, Sheree Atkinson Pedigo of Ruffin, Luci Atkinson Spivey and husband, Mike, of Liberty, Lilly Ann Scott Ingram and husband, Randy, of King, Laurie Scott of Orange County, CA, and Gary Scott and wife, Debbie, of Laguna Niguel, CA; eleven great-grandchildren, Megan Scott, Jacob Beamer, Chelsea Beamer, Michael Beamer, Emily Atkinson, Rachel Atkinson, Callie Pedigo, Brandi Miller and husband, Leigh, Hannah Spivey, George Spivey, and Anna Scott; a step-great-granddaughter, Brandy Ingram; a great-great-granddaughter, Victoria Miller; three sisters, Nell Pace Dickerson, Ann Pace Boles, and Alice Pace Cox, all of Stuart, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Mae Pace of Stuart, VA; and a sister-in-law, Annabelle Scott of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by a son, Elbert Ray Scott; a grandson, Trevor Shane Scott; a great-granddaughter, April Shea Smith; three sisters, Hallie Lena Pace Harris, Grace Irene Pace Hodges, and Lucy Iris Pace; and her step-father, Samuel L. Boles. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, by Brother Wayne Williamson. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
