Lilly Maye Hicks

Mrs. Lillie Mae H. Johnson Hicks, widow of the late Robert Clayton Hicks age 70 of Mt. Airy passed away August 9, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County, January 18, 1936 to the late Ambrose Witt and Susie Lawson Hudson. Mrs. Hicks was retired and a member of Blackwater Community Church. She is survived by a daughter Kay Johnson Roberts; a son and daughter-in-law, Rufus Gray and Sandra Sawyers Johnson; four grandsons, Jamey Lee Roberts, Colby Ronald Roberts, Jimmie Oliver Johnson, and Justin Franklin Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Blackwater Community Church by Rev. Ted Crotts, Rev. Ray Hutson, and Rev. Roger Vaden with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where her body will remain until the time to be carried to the church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
