Mrs. Linda Galyean Davis, 61,of Dobson, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009, unexpectedly at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Surry County April 6, 1948, to the late Osby and Amy Hodges Galyean. She was a loving mother and homemaker and was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerard Fredric II and Kadeana Davis of Elkin, Christopher Dale and Serena Davis of Mt. Airy, and Steven Jacob Davis of Walnut Cove; four grandchildren Bradley Davis, Chelsea Davis, Eevie Davis, and Sierra Davis; two sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Luke Oakley and Peggy and Danny Thornton, all of Mt. Airy; and one brother and sister-in-law, Wade and Kay Galyean of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Rae Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jonathan Barker, the Rev. Chris Davis, and the Rev. Claude Lloyd will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 PM, and at any other time at the home of her son, Gerard Fredric Davis II, 260 Rolling Springs Ln., Elkin.
