Mrs. Linda Carolyn Poore Cox Draughn, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday evening, November 23, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Draughn was born February 12, 1943, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Leonard Paul and Versie Mae Shelton Poore. Linda retired from Cross Creek Apparel after many years of service and was a faithful member of Union Hill Friends Church. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Carol Lynn and Joel Casstevens, Tracey Lannette Cox Collins, and Craig Timothy and Becky Cox; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kipp and Keely Casstevens, Kyle and Cayla Casstevens, Matthew Collins, Catlin Cox, and Courteney and Corey Mayes; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Draughn was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Draughn; and a brother, Gerald Paul Poore. A service of worship and celebration of Linda’s life will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Union Hill Friends Church, with the Rev. Ernest Brown and the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017; or the Union Hill Friends Church Cemetery Fund, 2315 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
