Linda Louise Harbin Hicks

Mrs. Linda Louise Harbin Hicks, 76, of Clemmons passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.  Mrs. Hicks was born in Surry County on December 22, 1946, to the late, Harry Wilmer Harbin, Jr. and Hilda Jane Hutchens Harbin. She grew up in Maryland and her family moved to White Plains in 1963, where she graduated from North Surry in 1964.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  Mrs. Hicks was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She was on the board of directors of the original Habitat for Humanity in Mount Airy and served on the board for The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History. Mrs. Hicks was a medical secretary for many years at BGSM and worked for Dr. Mark Appler in Mount Airy. She worked part time and full time at Bank of America in various positions for 10 years. Mrs. Hicks was married 58 years to the love of her life, and survived by husband William “Bill” Hicks of Clemmons, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Matt Hicks and Katie; grandchildren, Kinley and Liam Hicks, Brady Bowman; sisters, Harriett Holmes, Jean Armfield; sister-in-law, Polly Kidwell; special niece and nephew, Brenda Richards and Michael Richards.  Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by a brother, John Kidwell.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sarah Carper Morris officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
