Linda Faye Corn Jones

Mrs. Linda Faye Corn Jones, 65, of Mt. Airy, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 22, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born May 22, 1942, in Surry County, to Henry James and Thelma Lucille York Corn. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. Surviving are her devoted husband, Bobby Leon Jones of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and David Penley of Dobson; a son, Tony "Bobby" Jones of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tara Jones, Josh Penley, Adam Jones, and Tennessee Jones; a sister, Shirley Jones of Mt. Airy; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Mary Ellen Corn of Claudville, VA, and the Rev. Junior and Ruth Corn of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta Mosley. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008, at Mount Airy Wesleyan Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Loman and the Rev. Edwin Luther. Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Mt. Airy Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Jones requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Mt. Airy Wesleyan Church, 2063 South Main Street, Mt. Airy, NC, 27030 or to a member of Mrs. Jones' family.
