Linda Rae Slate Novak

Mrs. Linda Rae Slate Novak, 80, of Bermuda Run, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 29, 2022, at her home.  Mrs. Novak was born December 8, 1941, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Cecil A. and Grace Collins Slate.  Linda was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.  She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Allen and Christine Danforth and Gordon Mark and Melissa Danforth; four grandchildren, Grace Elena Danforth, Michael John Danforth, Lauren Elizabeth Danforth, and Gordon Slate Danforth; two sisters, Betty S. Hiatt and Brenda Kay Ogburn; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Novak was preceded in death by her husband, Cory Steven Novak; her sister, Mildred Prillaman Glenn; and two brothers, Graham Slate and Bruce Slate.  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, with the Rev. Richard Loman officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC  28607.
