Linda Jean Poff

Mrs. Linda Jean McCormick Poff, age 76, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at her home.  Mrs. Poff was born in Surry County on September, 9, 1942, to Jack and Alice Anderson McCormick.  She was a loving homemaker.  Surviving is her husband, Ronnie Poff; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Mavis Childress; a step son, Chris Poff; grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Kevin Oakley, Steven Oakley, Abigail Childress, and Abner Tate; and a great granddaughter, Lilly Oakley.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poff was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Oakley; sons, Johnny Childress and Danny Childress; and a sister, Judy McCormick.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Butch Holder and Rev. Arlis Thomas.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
