Linda Gail Puckett Westmoreland

Mrs. Linda Gail Puckett Westmoreland, 63, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born July 20, 1947, in Surry county, to the late Leonard Moscoe and Eva Euelala Puckett Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband, Sam Westmoreland of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Deneen and Ervin Barr of Ararat, VA; two sons, Jeff Westmoreland and Chris Westmoreland, both of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudine Ayers of Mount Airy; three brothers, Claude Turner "C.T." Puckett, David Moscoe Puckett, and Leonard "Junior" Puckett, all of Mouny Airy; and a special friend, Barbara France of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Troy Ayers. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Doug Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
