Linnie Irene Houck Beck

Mrs. Linnie Irene Houck Beck of Ararat, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Beck was born February 27, 1949, in Surry County, to Alonzo and Madge Lawson Houck. She was a member of Genesis Full Gospel Church. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Wayne Puckett, Karen and Wayne Parker, and Mandi and Robert Whitt, all of Mount Airy, and Deserath and Mickey Anderson of Lowgap; a son, Jeffery Beck of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Travis Carpenter, Carrie Goad, Samantha Parker, Barbara Hutchens, and Mickey Anderson; great-grandchildren, Nickolas Whitt, Nathaniel Whitt, Shianne Hutchens, and Kaitlin Whitt; and special friends, Cheryl Osbourne, Wilma Edwards, and Pam Bowman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband, James Barker Beck; and a brother, David Houck. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 5, 2010, at Genesis Full Gospel Church, by the Rev. Lonnie Gunter and the Rev. Roby Wilcox. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:00 at the church.
