April 3, 2021 Pilot Mountain Mr. Linvill Glenn Phillips, age 80, of Pilot Mountain, NC passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Rockford Township, Surry County, NC on June 23, 1940, to the late Marshall Glenn Phillips and the late Myrtle Jarvis Phillips. After graduating from Copeland High School in Dobson, NC, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country. He was retired from Reynolds Tobacco Co. In his spare time he enjoyed watching dirt track racing. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and had countless friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Lynn Phillips; and his brother, Marshall Don Phillips. Surviving are his wife, Frances Watson Phillips; daughter, Lisha Phillips Snow (Tony G. Whittington); son and daughter-in-law, David Glenn Phillips (Linda); step-daughter, Fran Watson Spurlin (Corey); grandchildren, Shea Snow Carter (Devin), Laken Phillips Royall (Joe), Kason Snow, Megan Phillips Cagigas (Johnny); great-grandchildren, Colton Royall, Carson Royall, Knox Carter, Saylor Carter; niece Marsha Phillips Ebert (Chuck), nephew Derek Phillips. Visitation will be held at the Moody-Davis Funeral Home - 215 W. Knapp Street, Dobson, NC starting at 12:00pm Tuesday 6 April 2021. Immediately following the visitation, the family and attendees will then proceed to the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery located at 1284 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC, where a graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Randy Davis with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Hamptonville Post 10346. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home - 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
