Lisa Gillespie

Miss Lisa Bryant Gillespie, age 55, of Lowgap, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her home.  She was born on November 16, 1963 in San Salvador, El Salvador to Teresa Hulon “Tee” Gillespie and the late James Leroy Gillespie.  Miss Gillespie graduated from North Surry High School and Wingate University.  She retired from teaching, having taught in the Union and Stokes County School Systems.  Miss Gillespie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Teresa “Tee” Gillespie; her brother, Mark Gillespie; her niece, Leigh Ann Davis; her great niece, Laekyn Davis; her great nephew Taelyn Davis; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Chappell.  In addition to her father, Miss Gillespie was preceded in death by her sister, Heather Chappell.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Bledsoe and Mr. Rodney Gwynn officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
