Mr. Lloyd Lowe, 87, of 153 Quaker Mill Drive, Ararat, passed away early Friday morning, September 9, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Lowe was born April 1, 1924, in Surry County, one of eleven children born to the late John Lloyd and Susan Frances Matthews Lowe. Lloyd served our country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from North Carolina Granite Corporation after many years of service and was a member of Mount Airy Church of God. He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Suzette Lowe of Ararat; a sister, Ramona Lowe Bowlin of Mount Airy; fourteen nieces; twelve nephews; and a host of special friends, including Larry Hicks, Joey Stanish, Keith Simmons, and Jeff Irwin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla McHone Lowe; four sisters, Lillian Lowe Pecor, Mary Lowe Grimes, Frances Lowe Collins, and Maxine Lowe Boyles; five brothers, Wayne Lowe, Eddie Lowe, Willie Adam Lowe, Joseph Newell Lowe, and Grover Lowe; and two nephews, Johnny Lowe and R.K. Lowe. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Church of God, with the Rev. Charles Powers and Lee Boyette officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with full military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Church of God. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017; Northern Hospital Foundation, P.O.
