Mrs. Lois Almedy Hodges Davis, age 94, of Mount Airy passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville, North Carolina. She was born October 27, 1929, in Surry County to the late Richard Pless Hodges and Elector Hodge Hodges. Mrs. Davis was a faithful and longtime member of the Mount Airy Church of Christ. She was a loving and caring person to all that knew her. Mrs. Davis was well known for her famous homemade apple pies and loved tending to the garden and her flowers. Surviving to cherish her memory is a daughter, Brenda Creed; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Davis and Susan; her grandchildren, Shelia Goins Hawks and husband Michael, L. Eric Davis; great grandchildren, Justen Hawks (Crystal), Tyler Hawks (Jenn Locke); great great grandchildren, Zoe Davis, Titus Hawks, Spencer Hawks, Sierra Hawks; three sisters, Lettie Reid, Frances Bean, Yvonne Smith; one brother, Pless Hodges, a very special caregiver, Cheryl Atkins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Edward G. Davis; granddaughter, Cindy Carolyn Goins; sisters, Bessie Cave, Alice Mitchell, Vallie Bryant, Etta White; brother, Charles Ray Hodges. A celebration of Mrs. Davis life will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David Tucker officiating. A burial will follow Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Davis family.
