Lois Wright Wood

Lois Wright Wood, age 74 of Stuart passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart after a brief stay at home. She was born in Patrick County on August 29, 1937 to the late Alvis E. and Essie Newman Wright. Lois attended Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who loved working in her flower garden. During her many years of working in the retail business, she truly enjoyed working with the public and made many friendships along the way.
Lois is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and H.C. Nelson, Maria and Mike Fain, all of Stuart; one son, Alvis Wood of the home; four grandsons, Shane Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Caleb Smith and Brandon Wood; and one sister, Lorene Gilley of Stuart.
Funeral services for Lois will be held Wednesday at 3:00pm at Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jim Churchwell and Rev. Kenneth Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Teresa Nelson at 146 Taylor Road, Stuart.
