Lola Mae Coleson

Mrs. Lola Mae Puckett Coleson, 92, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on November 29, 1929, to the late Serle and Glenice Marshall Puckett. Mrs. Coleson retired from Spencer’s, and a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Coleson McCarthy; grandchildren, Billy and Amber Marsh, Mike and Heather Marsh, Jennifer and David Wills, Jordan Reinhardt; great grandchildren, Taylor Marsh, Kennedy Marsh, Trevor Marsh, Cloe Marsh, Kenneth Wills, Kacey Wills; sisters, Peggie Kimbell, Ala Deane Bowman, and Mildred Marshall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmore Puckett, Leon and Rachel Puckett, and Mary Colson Ivey; brother-in-law, Carol “Buster” Coleson; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coleson was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert Hoover Coleson; sisters, Grey Montgomery, and Wanda Puckett; brothers-in-law, Ray “Bob” Marshall, Donald Bowman, Clifton Kimbell; sister-in-law, Sharon Puckett,. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Rayton Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in Jonah Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and all her caregivers for the love and care given to Lola during her illness.
