Lola Frankie Montgomery

Mrs. Lola Frankie Taylor Montgomery, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, June 15, 2018, at her home.  Mrs. Montgomery was born October 26, 1932, in Surry County, the only child born to the late Riley Franklin and Sarah Emma Young Taylor.  Lola retired from Renfro Corporation after many years of service and was a member of the Christian faith.  She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy Ann and Tim Vernon, Harlene Harrell, Jean Harold, and Sue and Jack Swift; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jeannie Montgomery; her grandchildren, Jarrett Harold, Heath and Jessica Montgomery, Pixie and Joey Pack, Matthew and Kristina Swift, and Joseph and Melissa Swift; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Pack, Wyatt Pack, Braxton Montgomery, Olivia Montgomery, Maddie Swift, Grady Swift, Carter Swift, and Corbin Swift; and her special caregivers, Paula McCarthy, Arlene Collins, Joyce Cassell, and Sherry Creech.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, William Harley Montgomery; a son-in-law, Bill Harrell; and a guardian angel, Geneva Bean.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Rickey Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC  28209.
