Mr. Lonnie Ray Isaacs, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Isaacs was born January 9, 1935, in Surry County, to the late Ephraim and Thelma York Isaacs. He retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. and enjoyed farming. Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife, Bertie Mae Isaacs of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lucy Hice of Mount Airy, John Hice of Elkin, and Patty Isaacs of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jennifer Isaacs of Mount Airy; the special love of his life, his grandchildren, Keisha Hice and Austin Isaacs, both of Mount Airy; a great-grandson, Dillon Parker of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ronnie Sparks of Mount Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Becky Isaacs of Georgia, Leonard Isaacs of Mount Airy, Roger and Jenny Isaacs of Kernersville, Irene Isaacs of High Point, and Jan Isaacs of Kentucky; a special friend, Ray Sawyers; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Isaacs was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Isaacs; a granddaughter, Michelle Parker; and two brothers, Gray Isaacs and Richard Isaacs. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy coducted by Rev. Gary Sawyers. Burial will follow in New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 3, 2009, from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Amy Robertson and the nurses on the ICU of Northern Hospital of Surry County for the wonderful care that was given to Mr. Isaacs.
