Mr. Lonnie Venable Quesinberry, 68, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, of 298 O'Neal Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday afternoon, January 22, 2010, at his home. Mr. Quesinberry was born June 26, 1941, in Surry County, son of the late Prince James and Ollie Mae Venable Quesinberry. Lonnie was a longtime tobacco farmer until 1980. Then, he worked at Surry Electric Motors for 5 years and retired from Wayne Farms after 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patsy Ruth Barker Quesinberry of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gina Q. and Dixie "Dickie" Haynes and Sharon Q. Wood, all of Mount Airy, and Sheila Q. and Chuck Riddle of Dobson; four grandchildren, Justin Haynes and Holly Wood, both of Mount Airy, and T.J. Heath and Charleye Riddle, both of Dobson; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Raymond Robtison of Pilot Mountain; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James Edward and Claudine Quesinberry, Kenneth Quesinberry, and Ralph "Joe" and Ginger Quesinberry, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Quesinberry was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caurin Lonae "Cori" Hall; a stepgrandson, Dixie Albert "Jock" Haynes, III; and a brother, Russell Lee Quesinberry. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 25, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Blackwater Community Church, with the Rev. Ted Crotts, the Rev. Bill Watson, and the Rev. Ray Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
