Mrs. Loraine Perry Vestal, 86, of Twin Oaks Road, Elkin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She has departed this world for her heavenly home. She was a lifelong resident of the Salem Fork community. She was born December 23, 1923, in Surry County, to the late Marvin A. and Pearl Snow Perry. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her husband, William Sanford Vestal; a sister, Lucille Stanley. She was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Dwight Vestal of Elkin; a granddaughter, Penny Vestal of Elkin; a grandson and his wife, Sandy and Stacy H. Vestal of State Road; a great-grandson, Austin Vestal; a sister, Annie Lee Nichols; and her special friends, Maxine Waddell, Angela Carol Key, Louise Baity, and Joyce Whitaker Dobbins.
The funeral service will be held Friday, November 26, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with the Rev. Tom Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the love and care given to their loved one.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 26, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tom Parker will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis on Friday from 12:30 P.M. until the time of her service.
