Loree Ollie Venable Johnson

Mrs. Loree Ollie Venable Johnson, age 88, of Dobson, NC passed away at her daughter's home in Dobson, NC, with her loving family at her side. She was born Jan.15, 1921 in Surry County to the late Dosier and Bertha Venable. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Marvin A. Johnson; four sisters Cassie Snow, Ira Blevins, Geneva Pilson, and Gertha Lou Hutchens and four brothers, Grover, Allen, Wilbur and Walter Venable; and two infant siblings: Ethen France and Elmer Dean Venable. Mrs. Johnson retired from Surry County Schools, where she taught for 39 Years. She was a member of Surry County Retired School Personnel, and Northern Surry Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Johnson was a member of New Home Church of Christ and attended church faithfully at Dobson Church of Christ. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law Linda Hutchens (Albert) of Williamsburg, VA, Joyce Bunn (Sharrell) of Dobson, NC, Hilda Hall ( Gary, deceased) of Dobson, NC, Marvine Myers (Mark), of Thomasville, NC; nine Grandchildren; 8 Great-grandchildren; three sisters Edna Phillips Leavie Lemons, Bertha Jewel Clifton and one brother Curtis Venable. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Dobson Church of Christ conducted by Bob Parrish and Todd Byrd. Burial will follow in the New Home Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Dobson Church of Christ.
