Loree White Johnson

Mrs. Loree White Johnson, 87, widow of Thomas Edward Johnson, who preceded her in death on January 10, 2000, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1923, in Surry County, to the late William Thomas and Sallie Scott White. She was a homemaker and a true farmer's wife who devoted her life to her family and service to God. She was a dedicated member of Salem Fork Baptist Church as long as her health permitted and had a great love for people. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Ellen Johnson of Elkin, and Randy and Carolyn Johnson and Mark and Molly Johnson, all of Dobson; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Ted Holyfield, Curtis Johnson and his wife, Betty May Johnson, and Fred Snow; and three sisters-in-law, Catherine White, Chris White, and Helen Bowers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Edith Holyfield, Maxie Collins, Maurice Gillespie, and Alma Robertson; and four brothers, Clinton White, Winford White, Ralph White, and Buck White. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Salem Fork Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Parker and the Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time for the funeral service.
