Lorene Gertrude Dawson

Mrs. Lorene Gertrude Needham Dawson, 91, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Priddy Manor in King.  She was born January 28, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Nathan Bundy and Ruth Emma Hiatt Needham.  She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Sandra Wagoner; a son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Sharon Dawson; her grandchildren, Angela Atwood and her husband, Michael, Zachary Dawson and his wife, Casie, and Jessica Hill and her husband, Wes; and her great-grandchildren, Addison Atwood and Fitzgerald Dawson.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Edward Dawson; and four brothers, Paul Needham, J. Bundy Needham, Roger Needham, and Phillip Needham.  The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. John Holmes officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
