Loretta Good

Loretta Janette Marshall Good, 68, of Cana, VA, passed away at her home on Wednesday night, April 7, 2021.  She was born in Carroll County on September 22, 1952 to the late Oscar and Lillie Mae East Marshall.  She was a very talented seamstress and educator.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Left to cherish her memory are five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gertrude Boles, Ruth Whitaker, Mary Chappell, Joyce and Phillip Berrier, and Edna and John Shelton; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Fred and Betty Marshall, and Helen Marshall; many nieces and nephews; and by a special friend, Iva Barneycastle.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Good was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jo Blackburn, and Rachel Starnes; and by three brothers, Elex Marshall, Benton Marshall, and James Marshall.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Bryant officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Moody’s on Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mitzi Snow Marshall.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Good family.   To send flowers to Loretta's family, please visit our floral store.
