Lorraine Gwyn Galyean

Mrs. Lorraine Gwyn Galyean, 64, of 1498 Pine Ridge Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, April 20, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Galyean was born March 24, 1945, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Tom David and Nancy Louella Dean Gwyn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Galyean of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Toni Michelle and Daniel Mitchell of Mount Airy; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Lisa Robertson, Timmy Wayne Galyean, and James Adam Galyean, all of Mount Airy; eight grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel and Johnny Slate, Julie and John Hicks, and Audene and Donnie Slate, all of Mount Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Brenda Gwyn and Larry and Sheila "Penny" Gwyn, all of Mount Airy, and Dennis and Pauline Gwyn of Laurel Fork, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Galyean was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosie Johnson and Ila Mae Hall; and a brother, Harvey Gwyn. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church.
