Lottie Ola Bowman Marshall

Mrs. Lottie Ola Bowman Marshall, 96, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Marshall was born January 17, 1914, in Patrick County, VA, to Ernest and Bessie Bowman. She was a hard-working, devoted, and loving Christian woman. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Bertha and Jack Haymore of Mount Airy, Stella and David Barley of Bassett, VA, Lula and John Edwards of Lowgap, and Linda and Glenn White of Pilot Mountain; sons and daughters-in-law, Claude and Doris Marshall of Lambsburg, VA, William Marshall and Lee Marshall, both of Lowgap, and Mildred Marshall of Mount Airy; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and half-sisters, Mary Burton and her husband, Bill, of Dublin, VA, Rosa Murphy of Amory, MS, and Hazel Alley of Pulaski, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Marshall; daughters, Dorothy Golding and Alverta Marshall; a son, Carl Marshall; a sister, Renee Bowman; a brother, William Bowman; and a half-brother, Berle Bowman. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Ken Aman officiating. Burial will follow in the Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
