Mrs. Lou Burke Watson Sizemore, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away early Sunday morning, November 20, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Sizemore was born August 2, 1942, in Pike County, KY, one of five children born to the late James Blaine and Maxie Hall Burke. Lou worked at Smart Tops Hosiery for many years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lou Anne and Dean Hunter of Pilot Mountain, and Beverly and Greg Ratcliff and Gloria Watson, all of Mount Airy; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike and Mary Watson, Kenneth Watson, and Travis Sizemore, all of Mount Airy, and David and Amanda Sizemore of Lowgap; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Annette Burke of Shelby Gap, KY. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sizemore was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Lynn Watson and Donald Ray Sizemore; and four brothers, Tracy Dale Burke, Billy Burke, Lacy Blaine Burke, and James H. Burke. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Indian Grove Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Sammy Lawson and Mike Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Surry County Animal Shelter, 172 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
