Mrs. Lou Bray Webb age 90 formerly of Mount Airy, widow of Mr. Lewis B. Webb, died Friday October 27, 2006 at the Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin. Mrs. Webb was born in Surry County April 6, 1916 the daughter of the late James S. and Mollie Russell Bray. Mrs. Webb attended Salem College and received her BFA in Interior Design from Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Mary. She received her teacher's certificates in French and Italian and taught at Franklin High School in the 1940's. Mrs. Webb was a Cub Scout den mother and school grade mother, and also loved to play the piano, sew, and read. She was a lifetime member of The Garden Clubs of North Carolina and was a life long member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy where she was a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by one son, James Anderson (Andy) Webb of Mount Airy; Three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jim (LuEva) Bray, Mrs. Maynard (Christine) Beamer, and Mrs. Mary Rowe all of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Bray Smith, and one brother, James Russell (Jim) Bray. Funeral services will be held Monday October 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with the service conducted by Dr. Roger Gilbert and Rev. Robert Smith with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The Webb family will receive friends at the Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy on Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
