Louella Marie Mann Chandler Harp was born in Ballard, West Virginia on September 3, 1934 to Roena Bratton Mann Ferguson and Arthur Dean Mann. She was preceded in her passing by both of her husbands, Clinton T Chandler and Thomas Harp, and her brother James Mann. Louella has two living brothers, Aaron Ferguson of Bozoo, West Virginia, and Dean Mann of Narrows, Virginia. She has three living sisters, Rosemary Cooper of Dayton, Ohio, Debra Ferguson of Bozoo, West Virginia, and Connie Sawyer and her husband Jerry of Narrows, Virginia. Louella has two children, Terri Masiello of Cornelius, North Carolina and Mark Chandler of Smithfield, Virginia, as well as three grandchildren, Bianca Masiello, Clinton Masiello, and Sami Chandler. She also claimed as her own the children of Thomas Harp, Steven Harp, Cindy Conrow, and their children. Louella and Tommy moved to Mt. Airy in 1991 and lived on Spring Street, just down the hill from Haymore Baptist Church, where she and Tommy provided ministry through bible study, choir, clothes closet, construction, and many dramas. She received a plaque of appreciation from the church for 18 years work in the Clothes Closet. Louella lived more than ten years outside of this country with her first husband who was in the Air Force, in Greece, Tokyo, Italy and the Philippines. She also worked as a sheet metal mechanic at the Newport News Shipyard. She brought joy and wisdom to all that knew her, and she will always be a loving presence in our lives.
