Lt. Col. Jerry Paul Snow (USAF RET)

Lt. Col. Jerry Paul Snow (USAF RET), age 71, of Mount Airy, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 27, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Mr. Snow was born in Surry County on July 20, 1944, the son of the late Carl and Lennis Stewart Snow. Mr. Snow was retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service, where he served as a pilot in the Vietnam War. Mr. Snow was a loyal member of First Christian Church in Montgomery, AL until recently moving back to Mount Airy. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Jane Leach Snow, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Brett Rhinehardt of Charlotte; one son, Chris Snow and friend Maria Huzau of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Jackson Rhinehardt, Pryor Rhinehardt, Bella Grace Rhinehardt, and Trulyn Rhinehardt; and two sisters, Hilda G. Snow of Tallahassee, FL and Glenda S. Thompson and husband Steve of Roaring Gap, NC. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist church with Rev. Alex Martin and Rev. Bob Parvin officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery with graveside rites performed by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The Snow family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the hour of the service Monday.
