Mrs. Lucy Lee Culler Forrest, 100, of 2103 East Pine Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Forrest was born February 15, 1906, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Walter and Ella Hendrick Culler. She was a homemaker and a member of The Presbyterian Center. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lona and Herbert Reynolds of Winston-Salem and Barbara and Dillard Goad of Mount Airy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Diane Forrest and Junior and Anne Forrest, all of Mount Airy, and William and Margie Forrest of Rural Hall; a stepdaughter and spouse, Ruby and Zoy Gammons of Mount Airy; a stepson, Richard Forrest of Eden; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Forrest was preceded in death by her husband, John Forrest; a daughter, Mary Hicks; two sons, Aldy Forrest and Lee Forrest; two stepdaughters, Ethel Marion and Nina Forrest; three stepsons, Joe Forrest, Will Forrest, and Frank Forrest; five sisters, Virginia Culler, Erma Loftis, Geneva King, Julie George, and Evie Smith; and four brothers, Jim Culler, Hobert Culler, Eugene Culler, and Frank Culler. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2006, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Colen Forrest, and burial will be in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Sabrina McKeithan, Linda Cannoy, and Tonya Bateman for the loving care and support given to Lucy during her illness.
