Lucy Arnder Goard

Mrs. Lucy Arnder Goard, age 93 of Patrick Springs, passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in North Carolina on September 27, 1912 to the late George and Addie Barker Arnder. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goard was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Goard; four sons, Eugene, George, Larry and J. C. Goard; one sister, Jettie Chapel; and one half-brother, Chester Arnder. She was a member of Patrick Springs Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Goard is survived by two sons, Ray and Pete Goard, both of Patrick Springs; two daughters, Peggy Fleeman of Galax and Myra Reeves of Henry; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Goard will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Dale Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Goard Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Ray Goard, 176 Mountain Valley Drive, Patrick Springs.
