Lucy Arlene Rogers

Mrs. Lucy Arlene Bean Rogers, age 80, of Dobson, NC passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC.  She was born in Surry County on January 3, 1939 to the late Burley Wilson Bean and the late Julia Roberts Bean.  She was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith. This woman was close to perfection, the love for her family and her dogs were much greater than this world could ever imagine. She was considerate, humble, and most importantly, a staple to our family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Douglas Rogers; a grandson Michael Martin; and three sisters and six brothers. Surviving is her three daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Raymond Wood, Cynthia Marsh Martin, Gregory Ables, Donna Fay Marsh, Hilario Martinez; seven grandchildren, Elitha Dawn and Richard Swaim, Ann Puckett, Justin Wood, Candace Martin, Meachum Marsh, Kolina Marsh, and Devin Hanks, Adriana Martinez, Brandon “BamBam” Martinez; thirteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2019, in the Dobson City Cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Rogers family.
