Mrs. Lura Jean Watson Boyles, 74, of Siloam, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Boyles was born October 29, 1938, in Surry County, to the late James Howard and Myrtle Marsh Watson. She retired from WIFM Radio and was a member Pine Hill Friends Meeting. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Boyles and Don Woodruff of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, James Neil and Emily Boyles of Huntersville; a grandson, Justin Woodruff of Kernersville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Wenona Watson Westmoreland of Richmond, VA, and Rita and Albert Johnson and Charlotte and Eddie Cassell, all of Ararat; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Gale Watson of Ararat and Tommy and Muriel Watson of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyles was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Boyles; a sister, Gilda Watson Simpson; and two brothers, James Howard Watson, Jr. and Dennis Watson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Pine Hill Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Michael Thames officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
